It is very convenient for us to reach the town of Kolomna from the city. 🚇The Kazan Railway Station, one of the three major railway stations next to the Komsomol Station on Line 5, has a train that can directly reach this town
🏡The town of Kolomna is located in the southeast corner of Russia. It was built in 1177 and has nearly 400 monuments, so it is definitely one of the towns with a long history in Russia. It is also here that the famous Moscow River merges into the Oka River and then flows to the Volga River
The town still retains retro transportation such as trams, and various old models can be seen everywhere on the road
🏠The entire town is about 65 square kilometers, with many small museums of the type of shops, hidden around the church buildings, and there are many signs with Chinese on the road, so there is no need to worry about getting lost. In other seasons, when the weather is sunny and the vegetation is lush, this town is still quite popular, and there are often tour groups visiting, but it becomes very quiet in winter, and there are almost no tourists on the road. The temperature was not low on the day we went there, it was minus 6 degrees, but it was sleeting all the time. Wherever the rain hit, it instantly froze, it was very humid, and the feeling was not very comfortable, so there were not many local pedestrians on the road.
📍Soft Fruit Cake Museum
It is one of the popular shops here. There is a small courtyard at the door, decorated with snowmen, white tables and chairs, and holly, and the layout is quite beautiful. There are soft fruit cakes of various shapes and sizes in the house, and the packaging is quite exquisite, suitable for buying as souvenirs.
📍Kremlin
A little further behind the soft fruit cake museum, it is one of the landmarks, the city gate, which is also the East Gate. After passing through the East Gate, you will enter the Kremlin complex, which was built in 1525. Although the appearance is a bit old, it is generally well preserved. The complex includes the gate, seven towers, the bishop's palace, two monasteries and the Assumption Cathedral built in 1382. The existing buildings were maintained and repaired by Tsar Nicholas I in 1862. There are many churches of all sizes here. The church with a dark green gate and a spire is my favorite building in this town. There is also a lake blue onion dome church next to it, which is very layered for taking pictures.
📍Rulki Vverh
Walking through the Kremlin complex and fortress, I went to have lunch and chose a popular restaurant called Rulki Vverh. The restaurant's specialty is pork elbow, which comes in two types: German pork elbow and Czech pork elbow, which are 1530 rubles and 1780 rubles respectively. We chose the slightly more expensive Czech pork elbow, which comes with two dipping sauces. There is an orange sweet and sour sauce that I like very much, which is very greasy! If you don't have a big appetite like us, a pork elbow for two people is enough! There are also potatoes and pickles on the side. We also ordered a soup. I think it's just right for two people to share. If you order too much, you will get tired of it.
